We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Lead this role will be responsible for assisting with surplus lines tax payment, reporting, and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely and accurately complete state regulatory surplus lines tax filings, reports, and payments
- Review, identify, and implement controls and accounting processes to increase efficiency
- Resolve existing credits and refunds for clients in Surplus Lines
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of training and reference materials, including developing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide excellent customer service by building and maintaining positive relationships with states, clients, and employees
- Stay up to date on state trust laws and other accounting compliance regulations
- Compile and prepare reports and summaries for clients as applicable
- Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
- Associate degree in Accounting, or comparable experience preferred
- Previous experience in surplus lines and/or the insurance industry preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting functions and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Office Suite and Adobe, with an emphasis on Excel
- Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume position, deliver timely and accurate work products with a customer service focus, and respond with a sense of urgency as required
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Self-motivated with the ability to problem solve while meeting deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication and ability to collaborate with team members

Compensation Range: $45k/yr - $50k/yr
